Merit 25, Raicilla, Repair

Finished up repairing the bow damage today on Raicilla, a 1981 Merit 25 - hull #246. She was involved in a low speed collision prior to the first warning signal during the 2009 PYC Grand Prix (Fall Regatta). We were racing in Newport during the PYC race so we did not see what happened, or for that matter what the "port-tack-boat" looked like after the collision. The impact to Raicilla punched a hole about 3" x 2" down each side of the bow and completely through to the inside of the boat.

Her skipper says "Aaaarrrghhh! We retired from racing Saturday, but taped-up the hole and rejoined the racing fleet Sunday. Fall East wind is a very different experience out on the mighty Columbia, but we managed to win one heat in our One-Design class What a blast! Wildhare Sailing was fabulous getting us through this unpleasant task (and especially, Jeff) . Prompt, courteous, professional! A reasonable repair bid and excellent followup -- I recommend Wildhare Sailing for any fiberglass or gelcoat repair -- The "patch" is super smooth and nearly invisible. Thanks, you guys!"
